-Where were you born?
In France
-In which country and city are you living now?
South Korea
-Are you living alone or with your family?
With my family
-How long have you been living in South Korea?
6 years
-What is your age?
32
-When did you come up with the idea of living in South Korea?
I was interested by the culture and the technology developed in the country. I think that the Korean government did a great job promoting information technology among the population.
-Was it hard to get a visa or a working permit?
Yes, Korea is not an easy country to get a working visa, but is it easy in Europe today?
-Was it difficult for you to get medical insurance before you went there or when you first arrived?
No, as I have French nationality.
-How do you make your living in South Korea? Do you have any type of income generated?
I'm the CEO of Asiance, a company specializing in Interactive Marketing in the Asian market.
-Do you speak Korean and do you think it's important to speak the local language?
I speak some Korean. This is not an easy language to learn and you really need to get a good teacher to be able to speak well, so take your time to choose the best one.
-Do you miss home and family sometimes?
Today we have numerous technologies that allow us to be close to our homeland: we use Google talk, Skype or Yahoo. They're fun and easy to use.
-What about housing, have you bought, or are you renting a home? How much do you pay for it?
Cost of housing in Korea is high depending on the level of expectation. Let's say that for expats, the budget would go from 2000 USD up to 6000 USD depending on the location and size. French people mostly live in Bangbaedong, where you can find the French school.
-What is the cost of living in South Korea?
Difficult question; Seoul has been ranked number 3 after Moscow and London as a high cost city. But you definitely need money to live in South Korea.
-What do you think about the Koreans?
Korean people are great if you try to understand their history, so please take an history book and read about what happen in their country… I've really enjoyed being in this country since 2002.
